Today marks week eight of not leaving my home (besides grocery shopping)! A Cinco de Mayo party was much needed and would be perfect way to keep positive during a time of uncertainty (not to mention a great excuse for a marg)! I used party decorations that are very accessible, so you can create the same look at home for your fiesta!

Supplies:

Super market flowers. I lucked out and was able to find succulents at my grocery store as well.

Tissue paper (Michaels does one day shipping and curb side pick up)

Scissors

Tape

Taco and drink supplies (or take out)!

My main decoration was a streamer wall. I cut sheets of tissue paper into fringe strips and taped them to the wall to create a back drop! Next I cut out paper picado (the same way you would make paper snowflakes) and hung them on the ceiling.

Don’t worry, your extra tissue paper scraps won’t go to waste! Next I focused on the table decor including both a centerpiece and place holders. I found these cute succulents at Whole Foods and decorated the disposable pots to look like piñatas!

Once the table is set, we’re ready for tacos!

I started off with chips and dip and margaritas! I then made two types of tacos. I made a ground turkey taco from a recipe on the Half Baked Harvest (highly suggest any of her taco recipes)! Next I made a sweet potato, black bean taco inspired by my favorite Mexican restaurant in NYC. If you don’t like cooking then Cinco de Mayo is the perfect excuse to support your local Mexican restaurants by ordering take out!

We opted to skip dessert and have another margarita! This definitely was the fan favorite! Happy cinco de Mayo and stay safe 💕
