Party for Two
I’ve been craving a night out! I really miss getting dressed up and going to fun restaurants on Saturday nights. In New York it doesn’t seem like restaurants are opening up anytime soon so I brought the restaurant experience home! This is a guide to throw a perfect dinner for two at home that will feel like you are actually out!
Now that the weather is finally warming up, I want to be outside as much as possible. I set up lights on my roof and brought up a small folding table.
I started the evening with drinks. I made simple paloma cocktails which is just a mix of lime juice, grape fruit juice, club soda and tequila. They are perfectly refreshing on a warm New York spring/summer evening!
Next I ordered mezzes from one of my favorite restaurants and also cooked a few myself. We ordered grape leaves, Turkish cigars, kebbeh and babaganush while I made lamb, hummus, and a cucumber salad.
I arranged the food around the eucalyptus and lemon center piece. I absolutely love decorating a table with eucalyptus and citrus fruits because they both are easy to find and bring so much color to the table.
The hummus was one of my favorite dishes to make! I topped it with minced lamb meat to make it more filling! Lastly I topped it with roasted pine nuts.
To end the evening we ate fresh oranges for dessert while watching the sunset. It was a perfect way to end the evening.
